Erica Kholinne, MD, PhD is a shoulder and elbow orthopaedic surgeon in Jakarta, Indonesia. She is a board certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and she has been dual fellowship trained in Sports Medicine and Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. Dr Kholinne has a clinical interest in minimal invasive surgery for the shoulder and elbow.
She started her medical studies in Trisakti University in 2001 and did her residency in University of Indonesia in Jakarta from 2010 to 2015. At the end of her residency, she did an elective posting in National University Hospital, Singapore for Sports Medicine which later become her fellowship program. She subsequently did a Shoulder and Elbow Surgery fellowship in Asan Medical Center in Seoul, South Korea with Prof In-Ho Jeon from 2016 to 2019. She has a PhD in medicine obtained in 2019 from University of Ulsan, South Korea. Her main interest of study is shoulder and elbow from basic science to clinical study.
She currently serves as the faculty for Indonesian Orthopedic Society for Sport Medicine and Arthroscopy (IOSSMA) and Indonesian Shoulder and Elbow Society (INASES). She also serves as research and publication committee for the Indonesian Orthopaedic Association (IOA). Internationally, she serves as the elbow section, scientific committee for APOA Hand and Upper Limb Society and the shoulder and elbow committee for SICOT. In 2020, she won the International Education Scholarship from AANA and selected as the AOSSM-APKASS travelling fellow. She has published more than 90 articles and has become a regular reviewer in many international journals such as The American Journal of Sports Medicine, The Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, and The Lancet on Rheumatology. She is also on the editorial board for the AJSM, the corresponding editor for Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery, the corresponding member for International Orthopaedics and the Associate Editor for The Journal of Indonesian Orthopaedic & Traumatology.
