Dr. Cohen is a Professor at the Postgraduate Program in Translational Surgery at UNIFESP (Medicine III, Capes grade 6) and Advising Professor of the Postgraduate Program in Health Sciences at Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein. He is a reviewer and/or Editorial Board member for of journals American Journal of Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy: The Journal of Arthroscopy and Related Surgery, Cartilage, Clinics (USP), Acta Ortopédica Brasileira, Revista Brasileira de Ortopedia and he is Editor of Revista Brasileira de Medicina (special volume Ortopedia ). He currently works in three Research Lines, with Fapesp fundraising, with regular and thematic projects and CNPq (Universal public notice), with emphasis on orthopedics and traumatology. Dr. Cohen was President of ISAKOS from 2011-2013 and has served as President of the Brazilian Knee Society (1997-1998), Brazilian Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (2003-2004), SLARD (2005-2006), and the Brazilian Orthopaedic Society (2019). He is on the Board of Directors for the Patellofemoral Study Group and Vice President of the ACL Study Group.

Dr. Evans is a Board Certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine with a primary focus in knee and shoulder arthroscopy. After receiving his undergraduate degree from Binghamton University, he returned to his home town of Buffalo, NY for medical school at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine. He stayed at SUNY Buffalo to complete his orthopaedic surgery residency.  Dr. Evans then went on to do a fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Chicago. After completing his fellowship, Dr. Evans joined the faculty in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Loyola University Medical Center and Hines Veterans Administration Hospital in 2005.  In 2014, Dr. Evans was appointed Director of Surgical Simulation Education and Assessment for Loyola University Medical Center to further his interest in training residents and medical students.  Dr. Evans was recently appointed as an Illinois delegate of the AAOS Board of Counselors.  Additionally, he is currently serving as Assistant Editor for Social Media for the Orthopaedic Journal of Sports Medicine and Chairman of the Electronic Media Editorial Board.  Dr. Evans is also an editorial reviewer for the Journal of Surgical Education.  Dr. Evans enjoys providing care to athletes of all levels and is the head team physician for the USA National University men’s hockey team.  Dr. Evans is also a team physician for Loyola University Chicago, the University of St. Francis, and Lewis University, as well as local high school athletics.

Dr. Evans’ current research interests are focused on the role of simulation in medical education and patient safety.  Other areas of scholarly interest include orthobiologics, cartilage injury and biomechanics.  Outside of medicine, Dr. Evans enjoys coaching and playing hockey, and spending time in the outdoors skiing, scuba diving, and hiking in the north woods of Minnesota.
