Dr. Keith Kenter, MD is Professor and Chair of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was recently Professor and Vice Chair of Academic Affairs with the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine at the University of Cincinnati. While in Cincinnati he held secondary appointments with the Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation within the Department of Neurology and with the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Cincinnati, School of Engineering. Dr. Kenter completed his medical school education at the University of Missouri-Columbia. His orthopaedic internship and residency was at Duke University Medical Center and then he completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine and Shoulder Reconstruction at The Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
Dr. Kenter has remained dedicated to the education of medical students and residents. He remained as Orthopaedic Resident Director over 10 years while at the University of Cincinnati. He has been given annual teaching excellence awards by his residents from both the University of Missouri and the University of Cincinnati. He was also recognized by receiving the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teaching while at the University of Cincinnati. He was the founding Chair of the Council of Orthopaedic Resident Directors (CORD) and is past Chair of the Emerging Leaders Program both housed within the American Orthopaedic Association. He remains active with AOSSM and has held committee positions and has been elected to the Council of Delegates for both the states of Ohio and Michigan. He was awarded the AOSSM traveling fellowship to South America in 2005. He been on the Editorial Board for AJSM since 2011 and is a principle reviewer for several orthopaedic journals.
Dr. Kenter’s research interests are the basic science of soft tissue healing and the incorporation of tendon healing to bone and has been a part of NIH-funded research while at the University of Cincinnati. He has helped develop animal models to evaluate tendon healing and has investigated the basic science of tendon degeneration. He has lectured nationally and internationally on this basic science data. Clinically, he enjoys shoulder reconstruction surgery and the care of athletes. He has been recognized as a national Top Doc for several consecutive years and, in 2013, one of the top 28 shoulder surgeons in North America based on his educational programs as it relates to the shoulder.
He is married to Patricia (Patty) and has three children: Madeline, Charlotte, and Mitchell. He enjoys traveling, international cooking, and is a former junior-level ice hockey defenseman.

John Orchard is an Australian non-surgical Sport and Exercise Medicine Physician with a combination career in professional sport and sports administration, clinical sports medicine practice and research. His main area of clinical specialisation is in muscle and tendon injuries of the lower limb. In research, he has an Adjunct Professor appointment through the School of Public Health at the University of Sydney, with general research stream being sports injury epidemiology and prevention and over 100 publications. He was the Chief Medical Officer for the 2015 Cricket World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, was head of medical services for Baseball at the Sydney Olympics 2000, and has 20 years of experience working in various professional football codes. He has been a world leader in the topics of Local Anesthetic painkiller safety in professional sport and the relationship between ground/turf conditions and injury (including ACL injury) in football. He maintained the Australian Football League injury database for 23 years (1992-2014) and provides ongoing injury surveillance services for Cricket Australia. He has a Certificate in Clinician Performed Ultrasound (CCPU) in the Musculoskeletal stream through the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (ASUM). He has been on the Editorial board for both the American Journal of Sports Medicine and British Journal of Sports Medicine for the past decade.
